SLCOMM Community Medical Camp at Vijayaraja Maha Vidyalaya, Pihibiyagollewa, Medawachchiya

The Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine (SLCOMM) successfully conducted a Community Medical Camp on 07 June 2026 at Vijayaraja Maha Vidyalaya, Pihibiyagollawa, Medawachchiya, reaffirming its commitment to promoting community health and enhancing access to healthcare services in underserved areas.

The medical camp brought together a dedicated team of healthcare professionals from the Tri-Forces, who provided a comprehensive range of services including general medical consultations, health screenings, health education, and preventive healthcare guidance to members of the local community.

The event was graced by the presence of the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Krishanthi Edirisingha, and the Director Generals Health Services of the Tri-Forces, whose participation underscored the significance of collaborative initiatives aimed at improving healthcare accessibility and community well-being.

A large number of residents from Pihibiyagollawa and neighbouring villages benefited from the services offered during the programme. SLCOMM extends its sincere appreciation to all healthcare personnel, volunteers, sponsors, and local authorities whose invaluable support ensured the successful conduct of the medical camp.

School Item Distribution Programme at Vijayaraja Maha Vidyalaya

In conjunction with the Community Medical Camp, the Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine (SLCOMM) organized a School Item Distribution Programme for the students of Vijayaraja Maha Vidyalaya, Pihibiyagollawa, Medawachchiya, on 07 June 2026.

The programme was initiated with the objective of supporting the educational needs of underprivileged schoolchildren by providing essential school supplies and learning materials. In addition to the distribution of school supplies to students, three artificial limbs were donated to villagers who had lost their legs due to various accidents, while a set of solar-powered lamps was presented to the Principal of the school.

The event was graced by the presence of Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe, Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, and the Director Generals Health Services of the Tri-Forces, who joined in the distribution of school items to the students. The joy and enthusiasm displayed by the students reflected the meaningful impact of the initiative.
